Sedation and Pain Management
We believe that dental work does not have to be anxiety-producing or needlessly painful. In our office we use numerous techniques to ensure that dental procedures are done with minimal pain, discomfort and anxiety for the patient.
One of the most important aspects of managing pain from is understanding how a patient’s anticipation can affect their perception of pain. At PainlessDDS, we understand that the most effective pain management must involve a combination of pharmacologic, psychologic, cognitive-behavioral, and physical treatments. We strive to provide you with not only a comprehensive understanding of your treatment options, but also a calm and caring environment. We want you to be sure that you are receiving the best possible care.
Local anesthetics are also an important tool for the control of pain and discomfort during dental treatment. Anesthetics prevent the production and propagation of nerve signals. We also strive to decrease the pain during an intraoral injection by not only using a topical anesthetic before giving an injection, but also using higher-gauge (thinner) needles. It is our number one goal that you receive excellent dental treatment with least amount of discomfort.
